Kogei and Tourism

@ Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Art and nearby facilities & Ishikawa Sports Center

People across Japan have gradually started to engage in efforts to turn the country’s strength of craftsmanship into a strength of tourism in Japan, and to provide open factories, craft tourism, and premium tourism services. Over two days, we will hold a symposium and a networking event for the purpose of building a network of people who are implementing activities in this field.
On the third day and last day of the 21st Century Takagamine Forum, we will hold a roundtable conference featuring experts from around Japan. At the end of this conference, we will present the Ishikawa/Kanazawa Proposal that will later be referred to as the first key year of kogei-focused tourism.
The world of kogei-focused tourism involves many players:
1) Planners who promote the appeals of the region and plans to attract tourists,
2) People who send tourists, kogei fans, and individuals who are highly interested in kogei from local production areas,
3) People who receive and guide visitors as tourist information staff and guides,
4) People who receive visitors as staff of shops, restaurants, cafes, etc.,
5) People who receive visitors as staff of various museums, and
6) People who receive visitors as creators.
Which role do you fit?
In this day and age, an increasing number of players are involved in this field: people trying to revitalize local regions, people trying to attract kogei fans on a global scale, people who provide settings for experiencing fascinating Japanese culture, people holding conferences, people collecting and managing information, people creating transportation options, people transporting goods, translators, interpreters, and many more.
We eagerly invite you to join this special 3-day event for building Japan’s kogei team while collaboratively creating ideas and measures for the future.
